Nsukka, Enugu State — Dr. Hilary Onyishi (IKEMBA), candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) for the Nsukka/Igbo-Eze South Federal Constituency, has reaffirmed his commitment to deliver grassroots-focused representation, transparency, accountability, and people-oriented leadership if elected to the Green Chamber of the National Assembly.

Speaking on his legislative vision, Dr. Onyishi emphasized that effective representation must go beyond administrative offices and political announcements. According to him, true development should be visible, measurable, and directly felt by the people across the constituency.

Dr. Onyishi stressed that projects and interventions secured through his office would be designed to deliver tangible benefits to communities across Nsukka and Igbo-Eze South, rather than being concentrated only around urban or administrative centres.

He noted that many federal development initiatives often fail to translate into meaningful improvements in the daily lives of ordinary citizens at the grassroots. He therefore pledged to prioritize community-level impact through infrastructure development, youth empowerment, skills acquisition, employment opportunities, social interventions, and effective legislative advocacy.

The NDC candidate also emphasized the importance of transparency and accountability in public office. He pledged to maintain regular engagement with constituents and provide clear communication on legislative activities, projects, interventions, and other matters undertaken on behalf of the people.

According to Dr. Onyishi, effective representation should be built on a strong relationship between the elected representative and the people, ensuring that constituents have a voice in issues that directly affect their communities.

His campaign maintains that the Dr. Hilary Onyishi (IKEMBA) vision is centered on bringing effective representation closer to the people and ensuring that the needs and concerns of communities are properly communicated and pursued at the federal level.
