DR. HILARY ONYISHI (IKEMBA) PLEDGES ENHANCED ELECTRICITY SUPPLY AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT FOR NSUKKA/IGBO-EZE SOUTH FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY



 NDC Candidate Unveils Agenda for Federal Interventions Toward Sustainable Rural Electrification and Grassroots Economic Growth, Including Supply of Transformers and Solar Street Lights to the Constituency


 Dr. Hilary Onyishi (IKEMBA), candidate for the Federal House of Representatives representing Nsukka/Igbo-eze South Federal Constituency under the platform of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), has reaffirmed his commitment to improving electricity supply and driving rural development across the constituency.

Speaking on the key pillars of his campaign, Dr. Onyishi disclosed that his legislative agenda would prioritize the pursuit of targeted federal interventions to address the longstanding electricity challenges confronting communities within Nsukka/Igbo-eze South. Central to this agenda, he noted, is the provision of transformers and solar street lights to underserved communities across the constituency, as part of a broader strategy to bridge the rural electrification gap.

The candidate emphasized that reliable power supply remains foundational to unlocking economic opportunities, supporting small businesses, and improving the quality of life for residents at the grassroots level.

"Our people Ndi Nsukka/Igbo-eze South deserve access to consistent and improved electricity as a right, not a privilege," Dr. Onyishi stated. "Through deliberate federal-level advocacy, we will work to refine and strengthen rural electrification efforts, including the supply of transformers and solar street lights, ensuring that development reaches every corner of our constituency, from the town centers to the remotest villages."

According to the statement, his legislative priorities, if elected, would include:

- Advocacy for Federal Electrification Projects – Championing policies and funding allocations that expand and stabilize electricity infrastructure across rural communities in the constituency.
- Provision of Transformers and Solar Street Lights – Facilitating the supply and installation of transformers and solar-powered street lighting to improve power access and enhance security in rural communities.
- Rural Economic Empowerment– Supporting initiatives that leverage improved power supply to boost agriculture, small-scale industry, and local commerce.

e to support his candidacy as a pathway to tangible, people-centered representation in the National Assembly, stressing that his campaign remains rooted in service to the people of Nsukka/Igbo-eze South.
