DR. HILARY ONYISHI (IKEMBA) PLEDGES TO CHAMPION GRASSROOTS INCLUSIVENESS IN NSUKKA/IGBO-EZE SOUTH FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY. ~By Hon. CC. Oziokoja Ozioko.


Dr. Hilary Onyishi (IKEMBA), the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for the Nsukka/Igbo-Eze South Federal Constituency, has reaffirmed his commitment to promoting grassroots inclusiveness as a key pillar of his legislative agenda if elected to represent the people in the House of Representatives.

Speaking on his vision for the constituency, Dr. Onyishi stated that true representation goes beyond occupying a seat in the National Assembly. It requires a deliberate and continuous effort to ensure that every segment of society especially those who have been historically marginalized or underrepresented has a voice in shaping the laws and policies that affect their lives.

A Commitment to the Voiceless and Underrepresented

Dr. Onyishi's inclusiveness agenda focuses on four key groups within the Nsukka/Igbo-Eze South Federal Constituency:

Women:
He will advocate for laws and policies that promote women's economic empowerment, improve access to quality healthcare, protect women from gender-based violence, and encourage greater participation in leadership and decision-making at all levels.

Youth:
Recognizing that young people are the future of the constituency, he will champion quality education, skills acquisition, vocational training, entrepreneurship support, job creation, and meaningful youth participation in governance and national policy discussions.

Persons with Disabilities (PWDs):
Dr. Onyishi is committed to defending the rights and welfare of persons with disabilities by supporting legislation that guarantees accessibility, equal opportunities, inclusive education, quality healthcare, and employment.

Rural Communities:
He pledged to ensure that development reaches every ward and village in the constituency. His focus will include improved roads, agricultural support, quality healthcare, education, clean water, electricity, and other essential social amenities, ensuring that rural communities receive their fair share of government attention.

Dr. Hilary Onyishi (IKEMBA) believes that no community should be left behind and that every citizen deserves equal opportunities, respect, and representation.
